Job Opportunity: Senior Accountant
Role Overview: As a Senior Accountant at our global headquarters in Chicago, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our financial accuracy and compliance. This position is integral to our finance team, requiring a proactive approach to the period-end close process, maintenance of robust internal controls, and effective collaboration with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the period-end closing process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting.
Implement and monitor SOX controls, continually identifying areas for improvement.
Conduct thorough reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts in collaboration with Business Controllers and Global Business Service teams.
Uphold and advocate for adherence to our accounting policies and procedures across the organization.
Engage with both internal and external auditors during regular audits, providing necessary documentation and insights.
Participate in the rollout of new financial tools and support special projects to enhance financial operations and internal controls.
Work across functions to strengthen financial governance and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with 5-7 years of relevant experience in public accounting or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and SOX regulations.
Exceptional analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
Proven ability to drive change and efficiency in financial processes.
Excellent organizational skills with a capacity to manage multiple priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Proficiency in Excel, SAP, and Oracle; CPA certification is preferred.
